Paige Matthews is the fourth sister of the Charmed destiny. She is the youngest of the four but didn't grow up in the Halliwell family. She is the offspring of Patty and her white-lighter Sam, a relationship that was frowned upon by the Elders. When she was born on August 2 1977 they feared for Paige's life and so left her at a church with a Nun. She was adopted by the Matthew's and lived happily with them until she was a teenager. She became a rebellious child that drank, smoked and skipped school. It took the death of her adoptive parents to reform. She started to work harder and a powerful essay on her adoptive parents' death got her into college. She got a job at South Bay Social Services. Here she decided to look for her real parents but was put off searching when she found her mother was dead. However she always foundshe had a close bond to the sisteres who didn't know her and was often found clubbing at P3. When Prue died and Piper, in her anguish, recited the spell to find a lost witch, a newspaper magically appeared which told her of Prue's death. She attended the funeral and while talking to Phoebe she had a premonition of Paige being attacked by a demon, Shax, the same demon that killed Prue. In the this encounter Paige found she had powers and the sisters learned that the power of three was not dead with Prue. When her sisters were ready to relenquish their powers and their destiny at the hands of the Angel of Destiny she talked them round and allowed for a whole new era of Charmed.

 

Love

 

At the moment Paige has no stable relationship. In the first episode of the fourth season we were introduced to Shane, the guy she had been dating for just over a month, but that didn't last. This was something to do with the fact that he was possessed by the source and, although he couldn't remember anything about it afterwards, he knew that it had something to do with Paige.

Another love interest was Glen, one of Paige's childhood friends. They have tried dating but found they had a better relationship when just being friends. Glen knows that Paige is a witch and she even did a spell on him which backfired and caused him to be able to stretch to impossibly long lengths. He has agreed to keep that fact secret.

Power

Being one of the Charmed sisters means Paige has powers. However, as she is technically half-witch half-whitelighter she has more unusual powers. She has Prue's powers of telekinesis with an added feature. It is called teleorbing and is much the same except she orbs objects instead of just moving them. As she has only just obtained her powers she has to call for the object she wants to move. As she is half-whitelighter she is learning to orb and also helped Leo to heal Cole when he was half-demon. To start with Paige could only orb when she was scared but now she can orb across town and even take passengers with her. She is also learning to sense people. 

Spells

 

Paige has done numerous spells her most frequent being the one to hide something the person wants to remain unseen. She has used this on numerous ocasions to hide spots on Phoebe's wedding day and to clear up the mess of Cole's appartment after he exploded. When she first started she didn't follow the rules as she was the youngest and wrote spells for personal gain. When she anted her sleazy boss to get a taste of his own medicine it backfired and made her boobs inflate to giant proportions, much to her discomfort.

Evil Paige

Paige has had two encounters of being evil already. The first time was when her past 'fairy-tale' self came looking for her after she recited a childhood rhyme, that turned out to be a spell, which brought her love to her. This was also the love of her past self 'The Enchantress'. She had the power to control the elements which Paige tapped into to fight her. Paige was also turned into a vampire by the Vampire Queen in an attempt to become the Source and ruler of the Underworld. Paige then tried to change her sisters into vampires. When Cole, as the Source, killed the Vampire Queen, Paige turned back into a human as she had not eaten from an innocent.

Looks

Throughout the fourth season Paige had dark hair and wore revealing outfits. At the start of the fifth season she is much the same except for one major difference. Her hair is RED!!!! In the first episode we are told it was because of a ption that exploded. She has also had it cut.

Future

At the start of the fifth season we see a more confident Paige who is comfortable with her powers. She has mastered the art of orbing and can now travel all over the world. She, along with her sisters, have developed a fighting code which is seen in the first episode when she warns them of the demon-man that attacks. It looks that Paige's future with the Charmed Ones is set.
